We started Melbourne Event Photography Co. in 2014 with one camera and a simple belief: event photography should tell the real story, not a staged version of it.

Over 2,500 events later, that philosophy hasn't changed. Our team of three full-time photographers covers everything from intimate weddings in the Yarra Valley to 1,000-person conferences at the MCEC. We know Melbourne, we know events, and we know how to stay invisible while capturing everything that matters.

Every photographer on our team carries backup equipment to every shoot. We scout venues before the event, coordinate with your planners, and deliver a curated set of preview images within 48 hours. Once you confirm your booking with a 30% deposit, we schedule a planning call. We walk through the run sheet, discuss must-have shots, identify key people, and coordinate logistics with your venue or event planner.

Event Day Coverage

We arrive early to scout the space and test the light. From there, we work unobtrusively, capturing everything from candid moments to the formal highlights. You will not have to manage us or direct us on the day.

Delivery and Sharing

Within 48 hours you receive a curated set of edited highlights, ideal for social media, internal comms, or sharing with guests. The complete gallery with full-resolution downloads follows within 10 business days.

Common Questions About Event Photography

For weddings, we recommend booking 6 to 12 months ahead, especially for peak season dates (October to April). Corporate events and conferences can often be booked 4 to 6 weeks out, depending on the date. The sooner you get in touch, the more likely we are to have your date available.
Yes. Travel within greater Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Dandenong Ranges, Macedon Ranges, and Geelong is included in every quote at no extra charge. For destinations further afield in regional Victoria or interstate, we add a small travel fee and let you know upfront before you commit.
It depends on the event length and type. A typical 8-hour wedding produces 400 to 600 edited images. A 4-hour corporate event typically yields 200 to 350. Every image is individually colour-corrected and exposure-balanced. We do not pad galleries with duplicates or near-identical shots.
Cancellations more than 60 days before the event forfeit the deposit only. Cancellations within 60 days incur the full quoted fee. We allow one reschedule at no additional charge, subject to availability. Full details are in our terms and conditions.
Absolutely. Upon full payment, you receive a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use the images for personal and internal business purposes. That includes social media, internal presentations, newsletters, and your website. Resale to third parties requires written consent. Full usage rights are outlined in your booking contract.
