James Mitchell founded Melbourne Event Photography Co. in 2014 after spending five years as a photojournalist. He'd covered everything from local sport to state politics, and the lesson was always the same: the best photos are the ones people don't know you're taking.
That philosophy became the foundation of the business. No forced poses. No disruptive flash rigs. Just experienced photographers who know how to read a room, anticipate moments, and stay out of the way while capturing everything that matters.
Today, the team covers over 200 events a year across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Wedding photography in the Yarra Valley, conference photography at the MCEC, product launches in the CBD, and everything in between. The gear has changed since 2014, but the approach hasn't.
